Ramblings and Real Estate
October 23, 2003
I have decided to move our investments today. I am mostly looking to find stocks that pay dividends. Likewise, I am starting to get calls from clients that they are close to default, but they are finding ways to pay their monthly notes. California’s shift to a new leader in the Terminator can be felt across the board. I am still getting calls to sell real estate. I wonder when this bubble will burst. However, the end of the year has been slow for me, while my broker is still selling real estate like it is going out of style. Go figure. Had lunch with a real estate hopeful and close friend of mine Ernesto Pineda. I am looking to recruit him into real estate. He is currently an office manager for a technology start-up recruiting agency Hall Kinion.
I spent the rest of my afternoon with a client of mine. Most of the discussion circled around what she was going to do preserve his uncle’s money from the sale of his home that he has lived in for over 50 years. We have gone back and forth trying to determine their options. I recommended that they invest portions of their monesy in high yield bonds and high interest bearing money market accounts. They weren’t very receptive to that. I wonder how long the money will last.
